2008 Forecast for the Year of the Earth Rat
The Dieties of the Gods called all twelve animals together and they aurged over who would start off the cycle of the 12 years. The Gods decided to have a race and whatever animal croseed the river first would start off as number one. All of the animals jumped in the river. The rat cleverly jumped on the unknowing ox's back and rode across the river jumping off just before reaching the other side to gain his glory. That is we celebrate the Year of the Rat as the starting year in a cycle of twelve. Anything that you begin this year, whether it is a move, job or romance is said to have a lasting effect for 12 years.
The Rat is ruled by a fixed water element but this year it is the Earth Rat that is in power. Earth and Water elements clash bringing destruction on Earth in the form of water. Predicted flooding, tidal waves, water spouts, hurricanes, are to be watched and forewarned. Included in the water disasters are the possiblities of tainted drinking water, polluted rivers and lakes and poisonous ocean tides.
The Earth rules things of the land and of the spirit. Construction, engineering, architecture and Feng Shui will be advancing. The area of the arts such as graphic arts and design will show improvements as well. Since this will be a year of new beginnings any new research or learning studies will be successful and prove fruitful.
