My Message of Gratitude by Kimla Dodds
Thank you for your interest in Feng Shui.
How did you become interested in this fascinating philosophy? You are truly to be congratulated in your search for higher understanding and willingness to be open to the many mysteries of the workings of energy.
Throughout my life, the study of electromagnetic energy always sparked my curiosity. Whether I was studying Interior Design in college or touring the world as a Travel Consultant, this philosophy of Feng Shui was apparent. I saw many aspects while visiting China, Singapore and Bangkok. While in Hong Kong, I finally asked our tour director about the huge mirrors hanging from the windows outside along the tall, skyscraper type of buildings. She just laughed and said, " the Chinese are very superstitious people ". So I began my quest to research the customs and culture of this Eastern way of thinking and living.
I will always be grateful to my Interior Design Professor for suggesting I look into Feng Shui because she said I had more of a "feeling" for design rather than an "eye" for it. That was eight years ago, when Feng Shui was misinterpreted as a Chinese take-out order. My search uncovered Professor Lin Yun in San Diego, CA. He taught his philosophy of Black Hat Sect Feng Shui in a wonderful seminar specializing in Health and Wealth. I am so thankful to the Professor for sharing his beliefs, kind spirit and humor. Meeting Katherine Metz and signing up for her year long mentor ship program proved frustrating as well as enlightening. Thank you Katherine for being patient and understanding. There were so many questions and yet with each meditation I could feel my abilities starting to awaken. Reaching one of my goals by visiting Australia, and meeting other practitioners there, I came to the conclusion that I needed to study Compass Feng Shui immediately. How lucky I was to be a part of Lillian Too's first American visit. The Los Angeles class provided me with intensive basic and advanced training I was looking for. Many thanks to the Feng Shui Diva for responding to the need and coming to the US. She gave me down to earth practical knowledge and new found respect for the ancient ways of Feng Shui.
The certified Space Clearing class was taken at the University of Texas in Austin. However, after becoming email friends with Karen Kingston the Space Clearing expert, I realized just how sensitive you must be to do this type of work. Karen even came to Austin, TX for a book signing at my sincere request. Thank you for rescheduling and making an out of the way stopover.
Astrology has always been a passion of mine from my childhood. Thankfully, my mother encouraged me and we would pour over books on the kitchen table trying to figure out our family's charts. Adult education programs and classes at the University of Texas brought me up to speed. Thank you to Louise Jenkins, the National Astrologer of Texas for our ongoing sessions. Also many thanks to Michael Scott Kelly of the Design Guild. He was kind enough to bring the Four Pillars program into my life. Big Balloons of gratitude go out to Lance Beaster in helping to provide this website so we can continue to share Feng Shui.
My heart sings with gratitude for my Masters, teachers, mentors, students and clients from all over the planet. Every lesson, class and consultation raises our vibrations so we can balance our energy and live our lives in harmony while reaching our goals. And many, many, thanks to all the Masters that have come before my time, for their intentions and efforts in preserving this gift of Feng Shui.
